Continental Vehicle Suppliers, Inc.® and personalvehicleshopper.comsm were founded in 1996 and 1999, respectively, by Gary Matesic of Plano, Texas.

Gary spent 24 years as a trust officer, estate planner and private foundation manager with several major banks and asset management institutions. At one point in his career, he was entrusted with the overall administration of more than $440 million in client assets. Please visit www.trustmangroup.com for more information on his personal trust, expert witness and private foundation advisory services.

While still advising several wealthy families and law firms, and despite his long and successful financial services career, gasoline continues to run in his blood. Gary and his late father, Emerick, spent many weekends at the legendary Pittsburgh International Dragway ("PID")(www.pittsburghinternationaldragway.com), during National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) events in the ‘60s, watching icons such as “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, “Dandy” Dick Landy,  Ronnie “Mr. Four-Speed” Sox,  “Big John” Mazmanian, and many others from the golden years of drag racing. Gary began working on real cars in 1968, and has since been involved in everything from ground-up classic car restorations to race car engine and chassis building. He has collected more than 35 cars personally, from two Aston Martins (a DBS and a V8 Vantage - similar cars have appeared in several James Bond movies) to several vintage Mopars (Chrysler Corporation cars), presently including a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S convertible, and a 1967 Plymouth Valiant, currently being built as an autocross, road and drag racer. He has also owned 5 twin turbo Toyota Supras in the business, and one personally. Gary has taught adult education courses in new car buying, used car evaluating, and basic auto repair and maintenance. He has also been quoted in several feature articles on these subjects by the Houston Chronicle, and was the subject recently of a full page business article in the Plano Star Courier.

Gary’s civic activities include:

Director, Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. (www.dallaslighthouse.org), Chairman of the Board 2001-2003; Executive Committee 1997-present.

Trustee, Dallas County Association for the Blind Trust Fund, Past Chairman of the Board of Trustees and member of the Investment Committee.

Member, Plano Rotary Club, Past Director. Also a Paul Harris Fellow. (www.planorotary.com/)

Trustee, Plano Rotary Foundation (www.planorotary.com/)

Gary is also a former National Show Judge for the Buick Club of America (www.buickclub.org), and was a founding member of the Lone Star Performance Buick Club (www.lspbc.org). He also enjoys membership in the Lone Star Muscle Car Association of North Texas (www.home.att.net/~lsmctx/).

For sport, from 1999 to 2003 Gary campaigned this 1965 Dodge Dart Super Pro-ET bracket car. With a small block 340 engine and no nitrous, it has posted a best elapsed time of 10.95 seconds at 120 mph! Gary did all tuning himself, along with major rear chassis and suspension work.
