Dr. Rob Levy
with his nearly new 2005 Acura RL All Wheel Drive |
| |
 |
| |
Driven sparingly by an American Honda Motor Company
executive, we found and purchased this gorgeous '05 RL for
Dr. Levy. With only 12,000 miles, he saved more than $4,500
over the price of a new one. And this car essentially does
not have a mark on it! (By the way, the auto writers are
right. This is an AWESOME vehicle!)

Dr. Delia Hejny
with her brand new '05 Subaru Legacy |
| |
 |
| |
As explained below, we can use our dealer license to broker
new cars too. Dr. Hejny wanted a new Legacy, so we put the
deal together for her, had an invoice with her name faxed to
us from the Subaru dealer fleet manager, saved her nearly
$2,000, and she had a no-hassle experience when she went to
pick up her car. No hours of negotiating, no sales manager
"good cop/bad cop" nonsense, just a quick business
transaction and out the door with her brand new car!

Kristi Gardi with her "new" 2002 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer |
| |
 |
| |
A January, 2005 find after a brief search, we located this
near perfect '02 Eddie Bauer Explorer for Kristi. With only
19,227 miles, she has remaining factory warranty, and long
years of pleasant driving in this super nice SUV. It even
has a ceiling-mounted drop down DVD screen for the rear seat
passengers (a bonus that cost us nothing at the auction)!
She reports being extremely pleased with her Explorer, and
the hassle-free experience of our service.

Erin Freeman with her brand new 2005 Acura TL |
| |
 |
| |
At personalvehicleshopper.com, we can use our dealer license
to help you with a new car purchase as well! For a small
fee, we will negotiate fleet pricing on the new car of your
choice. That's what we did in February of 2005 for Erin
Freeman. Not only did we successfully negotiate her fleet
price, we kept her out of the hassle of negotiation with
retail salespeople and the feared "finance manager" (the
commission salesperson who tries to sell you all of the
extra "packages" after the deal on the car has been cut). A
potentially painful experience was transformed into a breeze
with our help! What's more, we took Erin's 1997 Toyota Supra
in on consignment to sell at retail for her. Even without
the sales tax offset from just trading it in, we will net
her thousands more with a retail sale of her previous car.
She wins all the way around!

Lori Stein with her "new" 2002 Buick Century |
| |
 |
| |
We found this excellent 2002 Buick Century at auction in October of 2004 with only 20,000 miles! It was a GE Capital Corp. lease return, and maintenance records were available online! In fact, it was still under its factory warranty as delivered to Lori. We came in under budget once again, and provided the client a nearly perfect car! Lori only paid $8,500 for this almost new car, including our fee! She could have bought an equivalent Toyota Camry to replace her old one, same year and mileage, but it would have cost her nearly $15,000 including fees (her old Camry was a V6, and the Buicks are all V6s, so we are using a V6 Camry LE price estimate instead of the more common and cheaper 4-cylinder). I'd personally rather have the Buick at the same price, but at $6,500 less? A no-brainer unless you think the Toyota will last longer, but it won't. And this costs us money; our fee on the Buick was only $775, and would have been $1,000 (capped) on a Camry! We ALWAYS do what is right for the client! And we took Lori's old
Camry as a trade.

A 2002 Lexus
RX300 with its proud owner, Beth Boisseau |
| |
 |
| |
We don't always find the right car at auction. In this case,
we found exactly what Beth wanted through our connections
and wholesale sources. This car was actually "intercepted"
by us before being traded in on a new Cadillac. The Cadillac buyer
was pleased, and so was Beth, especially since we came in within our budget for a 2001! And disposition of Beth's old
Thunderbird as a trade was no problem.

Lori Ausloos
with her 2002 Audi A4, purchased for her daughter
|
| |
 |
| |
It took us only 5 days from when we received her order to
find, evaluate and purchase this awesome Audi for Lori. And
we came in several hundred dollars less than
wholesale, according to edmunds.com, before fees.

A nearly new
2003 Suburban LT 4x4, with its new owner, Don Hahn |
| |
 |
| |
Dallas estate planning lawyer Don Hahn was a bit leery
before hiring us to find his "new" Suburban. He had always
bought new, and was always "in charge" of the process. After
doing an admittedly better job selecting this excellent
vehicle than he could have, and saving him about $2,500 in
the process, he is now a believer!

David
Eldridge's "new" 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe street rod!
|
| |
 |
| |
Believe it or not, we found this excellent, well-engineered
street rod for David at the Dallas-Fort Worth Auto Auction!
While it did not reach its reserve price that day at the
sale, we arranged to purchase the car on David's behalf
shortly thereafter. The techs at our repair shop could not
believe what we paid for the car once they inspected the
quality of its construction and engineering!

Lori Gordon
and the 2002 Ford Escape she bought for her daughter
|
| |
 |
| |
No, we are not cloning black 2002 Escapes (see two
testimonials below). But Lori wanted one for her daughter,
and we happened to find this excellent black example with
only 26,856 miles (around 13,000 per year, the North Texas
average is higher) in November of 2003. As of this writing,
in January of 2004, a leading area "superstore" has an '02
with the identical trim level and only 1,000 more miles than
Lori's. Their price: $17,998. Our price to Lori for her
"new" SUV: $13,585, including all fees, more than two months
earlier! And yes, we are happy to locate even less expensive
cars for teens, as well as second or third vehicles for
families.

Mike Kuhlwein
and his 2002 Corvette
|
| |
 |
| |
Even though it is somewhat unusual for an enthusiast to ask
us to pick his/her new performance car (they usually HAVE to
kick the tires themselves, even if it costs, on average, an
extra $1,500 to $2,000 to do so), Mike hired
us to locate and purchase this fabulous 2002 Corvette in
November of 2003, with only 4,146 miles!

Melissa Roach
and her 2002 Ford Escape
|
| |
 |
| |
We were recently placed on a search for a 2001 Escape to
celebrate Melissa's college graduation. We went just $250
over our bid limit for a 2001 and picked up this essentially
perfect 2002! Another extremely pleased client!

Doug Thompson
with the 2004 Lexus RX330 he bought for his wife
|
| |
 |
| |
This was a real find. In November of 2003, less than 10 days
after his call to put us on the job, we found Doug this
next-to-new '04 Lexus RX330 at the Lexus Financial Services
sale (held at the Adesa Dallas auction). It had only 1,545
miles!

Michele
Holwerda, her daughters and their "new" Expedition Eddie
Bauer
|
| |
 |
| |
Finally tiring of no air conditioning in her 1995 Plymouth
Voyager minivan, Michele traded it in to us for this super
clean 2001 Expedition, completely loaded including a DVD
entertainment center and game ports! Now her girls don't
mind road trips nearly as much.

Christi
Kobald with her 2002 Volvo V70
|
| |

|
| |
Following a successful search a month earlier for a NEW 2003
Infiniti FX35 for her mother, Christi hired us to find a
late model Volvo V70 wagon, and came all the way from
Granbury to do business with us. She thought we'd have to
stick with a 2001 but we found this fabulous 2002 with only
9,500 miles and stayed under our bid target!

Becky Champagne,
her family and their "new" 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE
minivan
|
| |
 |
| |
With new twin girls born just the year before, Becky was
tired of jamming the whole family (including then 8-year old
Amanda) into a Chevy Cavalier. She hired us to locate a very
clean, dependable minivan for her growing family. We noticed
this super-clean example at the Dallas Auto Auction. I
called Gene, her husband, to discuss the van as I inspected
it before it went across the block. We agreed that I would
bid. The result: After shopping at one of the major used car
superstores, Becky saved $3,558 over the purchase price of
an equivalent superstore van. That is not a misprint:
$3,558 after our fee! The superstores may be
less hassle than the old traditional dealers, but they are
not cheap!

Dr. Tom
Stephens with his 2000 Mercedes-Benz S500
|
| |
 |
| |
This one holds the personalvehicleshopper.com record for the
most expensive used car ever purchased for a client. In
2001, we located and bought this virtually flawless 2000
S500 Mercedes for Dr. Stephens at the Dallas Auto Auction.
Only a year and a half old at the time, this S-class beauty
saved Dr. Stephens nearly $20,000 over the price of a new
one! As of February of 2004, we have purchased 3 vehicles
for the Stephens family, and are working on a 4th, a 2004
Lexus RX330.

Michael Jager
with his 2001 VW "New" Jetta GLS VR6
|
| |
 |
| |
After a successful search in the spring of 2002 for a 1998
Mitsubishi Eclipse GS for his younger sister, Michael and
his mom returned to us when it was time to get him a "new"
college car. His friends were amazed at the price, stating
that the dealers had equivalent cars on their used car lots
(at that time) for $21,000. We think that was a bit steep; a
check of our friendly "superstore" showed an equivalent car
with 23,000 miles (Michael's had only 16,023 at delivery)
for a "no-haggle" price of $18,988. Whoops! With ALL fees
included Michael paid $16,110. For a better car with fewer
miles! Once again, our program worked!

Renee Whitney
with her Camaro Z28 Convertible
|
| |
 |
| |
After the two of them searched unsuccessfully, answering
private party ads and finding disappointing cars, Renee and
her father Steve turned to personalvehicleshopper.com to
locate a late-model Z28. The original budget called for a
T-top car, but we were able to find this excellent,
well-cared for convertible at one of our large dealer
auctions, for a T-top price! |

Bernice
Vejans and her 2001 Buick LeSabre
|
| |
 |
| |
Bernice, mother-in-law of noted Dallas business lawyer
Robert Solomon (www.hrepc.com),
needed a replacement for her 1999 LeSabre, which was
unfortunately totalled in an accident. She wanted one with
leather seats, and in a light color. After only 2 1/2 weeks
of auction shopping, we turned up this lease return, in
nearly new condition, with only 16,800 miles. Even better,
we saved her $6,269 when compared with the price of an
equivalent new 2001 per Edmunds' True Market Value
pricing (not MSRP), and also saved her $3,070 over what a
dealer would have charged her for the exact same car used,
per Kelley Blue Book!

Summer
Saunders with her 1998 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4
|
| |
 |
| |
Through a keyword search over the Internet, Summer's mother
found us and hired us to locate and purchase this 4Runner
Limited. Exactly one week to the day after receiving her
deposit, we located this '98 4Runner Limited at a Toyota
Motor Credit Corporation sale. It was her first color
choice, had every required option, was 23,000 miles under
her maximum mileage limitation, $1,000 under our
authorized bid limit, and still covered by the balance of
Toyota's new car powertrain warranty! Rather than ship it to
West Texas for only $250, Summer elected to fly to Dallas
and pick it up personally for the drive home. |

Evelyn
Eldridge and her 2000 Jaguar S-Type
|
| |
 |
| |
Longtime Jaguar owner Evelyn Eldridge traded her last XJ6 in
1997 for an Infiniti I30. While totally reliable, the
Infiniti lacked character. Upon seeing the S-Type, she
decided that was the car for her. The MSRP of $44,250 (a
friend of hers only received $400 off of MSRP on her new
S-Type) for a new 2001 3.0 was not justifiable when her
Infiniti only had 16,100 miles. She put us on the job.
Within 3 weeks we located and purchased the 2000 S-Type you
see here on her behalf at a Ford Motor Credit sale (Ford
owns Jaguar). With only 12,200 miles, it's almost new, and
the savings of nearly $10,000 (!) made
practical her dream of Jaguar ownership once again. |

A 1973 Jaguar
E-type roadster the day we delivered it to Randy Gordon
|
| |
 |
| |
While late model vehicles are our principal business, we
fill two or three collector car orders every year. (Other
collector cars we have located for clients include a '66
Mustang convertible, a '58 Buick Roadmaster, a '66 Corvette
convertible, a '69 Mach 1 Mustang and a '63 Thunderbird.)
Here's one we completed in June of 2001: a 1973 Jaguar
E-type V12 roadster for Dallas attorney Randy Gordon. With
only 23,600 original miles, it was quite a find. However,
too much sitting around is not good for British cars (or any
car, for that matter). Despite the low miles, we had to
arrange for carburetor work, air conditioning repair, to fix a few
electrical gremlins, and fresh fluids throughout. We even
introduced Randy to a Jaguar specialist for future routine
maintenance and repair work. After two weeks of ownership,
Randy reported to us that he had yet to raise the
convertible top. And he drives the Jag to work every day! |

Dallas trust
banking executive Eli Mercado with his 1999 BMW 528i
|
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
Busy with business issues as statewide personal trust
executive for Bank of Texas, NA, Eli didn't realize until
almost too late that the lease on his Mazda Millenia was up
in less than a week. He was unhappily facing the prospect of
extending the lease for 6 months (the minimum term) when we
told him of a BMW Finance Corp. sale that same week. We
pulled up the pre-sale listings, and found 6 528s that
qualified on paper. When we got to the sale, we eliminated 5
of the 6 due to condition, previous accident damage, or
wrong equipment (5-speeds). That left us with only one car
to buy, but it was the right car! And, Eli saved $5,043 by
having us personal-shop this car rather than buying it from
a BMW dealer (per Edmunds' True Market Value
pricing)! |

Mike Shea
with his 1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL roadster
|
| |
 |
| |
For the 4th time, we helped Mike and his family with their
motor vehicle needs. (As of January 2004, we have bought a
total of 6 cars, SUVs and a van for the Sheas.) Mike and I
talked on and off about his desire for an earlier, classic
SL Mercedes. I didn't have a firm order, but kept my eyes
open. This super-nice example came up last minute and
without warning at the Adesa Dallas auction. After several
cell phone calls, we bid, bought, did some very minor repair
and reconditioning work, and delivered the car to Mike. He
likes it so much, and it runs so well, that it now remains,
2 years later, his daily driver, replacing his 740i BMW! |
